L’église Saint-Martin de Bollate, au nord-est de Milan, est construite à la fin du XVIe siècle. Édifice à croix latine à une seule nef, avec une voûte arrondie et un transept octogonal. Le transept se termine par une corniche qui lie ses huit côtés et soutient, au moyen d’un haut tambour, la coupole. La voûte en berceau est soutenue par des piliers formés de colonnes plates et semi-circulaires, en saillie sur le mur et avec des chapiteaux en volute qui soutiennent le cadre de l’entablement qui court tout autour de l’église. À l’extérieur, sur le flanc nord-ouest, se trouve l’ancien clocher carré en briques, avec des briques plates à chevrons et de petites décorations en forme d’arcs.

The church of Saint-Martin in Bollate, north-east of Milan, was built at the end of the 16th century. It is a Latin cross building with a single nave, a rounded vault and an octagonal transept. The transept ends in a cornice that links its eight sides and supports the dome by means of a high drum. The barrel vault is supported by pillars made up of flat, semi-circular columns projecting from the wall and with volute capitals that support the frame of the entablature that runs around the church. Outside, on the north-west flank, is the old square brick bell tower, with flat herringbone bricks and small arched decorations.
