L’église est placée sous la tutelle de l’abbaye de Bellavaux dès sa construction. Plusieurs périodes se dégagent assez facilement depuis la fin du XIe siècle jusqu’à la période moderne. 

Cette église est probablement une ancienne chapelle castrale. Elle se compose d’une simple nef, sans bas-côtés, couverte par une charpente apparente lambrissée ; d’une travée de chœur voûtée en berceau plein cintre ; d’un sanctuaire formé d’une travée voûtée en berceau ogival et d’une abside voûtée en cul de four. . Le portail latéral date de la fin du 11e siècle. Cette porte est précédée d’un porche formé par des adjonctions établies aux 15e et 16e siècles sur le côté de la nef. Un certain nombre d’éléments proviennent de la première campagne de construction:  La nef, le chœur, le sanctuaire l’ abside, la travée de clocher et son absidiole, et le clocher  sont probablement du 11e siècle . La chapelle formant le bas-côté du chœur serait elle du 12e. Tout le reste de l’édifice, notamment les baies et les parements extérieurs, a été remanié au 15e siècle et au 16e siècle.

The church has been under the control of the Bellavaux abbey since its construction. Several periods can be easily identified from the end of the 11th century to the modern period.

This church is probably a former castle chapel. It consists of a simple nave, without aisles, covered by an exposed panelled roof structure; a choir bay with a barrel vault; a sanctuary formed by a bay with an ogival barrel vault and an apse with a barrel vault. The side portal dates from the end of the 11th century. This door is preceded by a porch formed by additions made in the 15th and 16th centuries on the side of the nave. A number of elements come from the first building campaign: The nave, the choir, the sanctuary, the apse, the belfry bay and its apsidal chapel, and the bell tower are probably 11th century. The chapel forming the aisle of the choir would be 12th century. All the rest of the building, especially the bays and the external facings, were reworked in the 15th and 16th centuries.
