Une relique de saint Martin se trouve dans le transept nord de la cathédrale de Tours. Il est en cuivre, a une hauteur de 136 cm sur une largeur de 58 cm et était destiné à être déposé dans le ciborium de la chapelle provisoire Saint-Martin. Il a été réalisé en 1864 par l’orfèvre parisien Jean-Alexandre Chertier, qui a aussi réalisé le baldaquin du maître-autel de la basilique Saint-Martin de Tours. Les reliques qui y sont conservées sont l’os pariétal et un os du bras. Chaque os est accompagné de son étiquette authentique, sur laquelle est inscrit pour le fragment du Chef : « De Capite B. Martini Ep. » et pour le morceau du bras : « De Brachio B. Martini Ep. Turon. ». Il a été conservé dans le tombeau de saint Martin entre 1996 et 2016, avant son retour dans le transept nord de la cathédrale.
Il est versé à l’inventaire général des Monuments historiques le 9 janvier 1992.
