L’église Saint-Martin de Saint-Martin-Lestra est construite en 1850 à la place d’une ancienne église devenue trop petite. Elle a été réalisée sur les plans de l’architecte lyonnais Mauvernay dans le style néo-gothique. une statue de saint martin domine le clocher. Une autre statue, figurant saint Martin évêque, se trouve dans le maître-autel d’une chapelle latérale, ainsi qu’un dessin de la charité de saint Martin, qui était le projet de bas-relief pour le tympan du grand portail, réalisé à Lyon en 1850.

 

The church of Saint-Martin de Saint-Martin-Lestra was built in 1850 to replace an earlier church that had become too small. It was designed by Lyon architect Mauvernay in the neo-Gothic style. A statue of Saint Martin dominates the bell tower. Another statue, depicting Saint Martin the bishop, can be found in the high altar of a side chapel, along with a drawing of Saint Martin’s charity, which was the bas-relief project for the tympanum of the main portal, completed in Lyon in 1850.
