L’église Saint-Martin de Ville-sur-Jarnioux aurait été fondée au XIIe siècle mais elle a été principalement reconstruite aux XVIe et XVIIe siècle, sur les fondations d’un oratoire bénédictin.

L’église abrite, dans sa statuaire, une statue figurant saint Martin en évêque, en bois doré, de 105 cm de haut, datée de la première moitié du XIXe siècle.

L’autel de la chapelle sud est également dédié à saint Martin.

L’église a été restaurée en 1987-1988, et se vitraux en 1993, puis ses statues en 1999, et enfin ses boiseries en 2001.

L’église Saint-Martin est inscrite aux Monuments historiques en 1979. PA00118089

The church of Saint-Martin de Ville-sur-Jarnioux is said to have been founded in the 12th century, but was mainly rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries, on the foundations of a Benedictine oratory.

The church’s statuary includes a 105 cm high gilded wooden statue of Saint Martin as a bishop, dating from the first half of the 19th century.

The altar in the south chapel is also dedicated to St Martin.

The church was restored in 1987-1988, and its stained glass windows in 1993, then its statues in 1999, and finally its woodwork in 2001.
