L’église Saint-Martin-de-Gouey est située dans la commune de Portbail, dans la Manche. Elle date majoritairement du XVe siècle. Elle appartenait à l’abbaye Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte et était l’église paroissiale de Gouey jusqu’à la fusion des communes de Gouey et Portbail, en 1818. Elle est désormais l’église paroissiale de Portbail. Elle a été bombardée avec l’ensemble de la ville dans la nuit du 16 au 17 juin 1944. Elle est rendue au culte après restauration le 15 septembre 1956. C’est lors des travaux que l’on trouve deux statues dans une niche : une charité de saint Martin du XIVe siècle et une piéta du XVIe siècle. Le chœur conserve une autre statue de saint Martin, en vis-à-vis d’une statue de saint Lô

The church of Saint-Martin-de-Gouey is located in the commune of Portbail, in the Manche department. Most of it dates from the 15th century. It belonged to the abbey of Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte and was the parish church of Gouey until the communes of Gouey and Portbail merged in 1818. It is now the parish church of Portbail. It was bombed along with the rest of the town on the night of 16 to 17 June 1944. It was restored and returned to worship on 15 September 1956. It was during this work that two statues were found in a niche: a 14th-century charity of Saint Martin and a 16th-century piéta. Another statue of Saint Martin stands in the choir, opposite a statue of Saint Lô.
