Une église est mentionnée pour la première fois à Châtenay-en-France en 1097, dans un acte de donation de Guillaume de Montfort, évêque de Paris, au prieuré Saint-Martin-des-Champs, dont elle reste la propriété jusqu’à la Révolution française. L’église paraît être dédicacée à Saint-Martin mais elle reçoit la dédicace actuelle en 1578.

Le clocher menaçant de s’effondrer, il est rebâti en 1899.

L’église Saint-Martin conserve un bâton de procession de la confrérie Saint-Martin du XVIIIe siècle, figurant une statue équestre de saint Martin, sans le mendiant et vêtu à la mode du XVIe siècle.

A church is mentioned for the first time in Châtenay-en-France in 1097, in an act of donation by Guillaume de Montfort, bishop of Paris, to the priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, of which it remains the property until the French Revolution. The church seems to be dedicated to Saint-Martin but it receives the current dedication in 1578.
The bell tower threatening to collapse, it was rebuilt in 1899.
The Saint-Martin church retains an 18th century processional staff from the Saint-Martin brotherhood, depicting an equestrian statue of Saint Martin, without the beggar and dressed in the fashion of the 16th century.
