La redécouverte du tombeau de saint Martin a permis la reconstruction à la fin du XIXe de la basilique et d’une crypte semi-enterrée et aveugle. C’est une vaste salle à cinq vaisseaux séparés par d’énormes piliers, chaque vaisseau est voûté en arêtes. Les murs sont remplis d’ex-votos implorant ou remerciant le saint pour une guérison, un miracle, et c’est dans cette salle que l’on peut voir le tombeau de Saint-Martin.

The rediscovery of the tomb of Saint Martin led to the reconstruction of the basilica and a semi-buried, blind crypt at the end of the 19th century. It is a vast room with five vessels separated by enormous pillars, each vessel is cross-vaulted. The walls are filled with ex-votos imploring or thanking the saint for a cure, a miracle, and it is in this room that one can see the tomb of Saint Martin.
