L’église abbatiale de Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe, classée au Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, possède cinq chapelles absidiales rayonnantes. Celle qui se trouve plein Est est dédicacée à saint Martin, qui est également le second patron de l’abbaye. L’autel, lui aussi dédié à saint Martin, est du XIe siècle.
