L’église Saint-Martin de Lamballe est l’église d’un ancien prieuré fondé en 1084 par le comte Geffroy Boterel, pour les moines de Marmoutier.

La nef romane date de la fondation, est flanquée de bas-côtés au nord et au sud, et est séparée du transept par un arc diaphragme. Le transept comme le chœur datent des XVIe et XVIIIe siècles. L’entrée sud de l’église est précédée d’un porche.

L’église conserve une statue de saint Martin, un bas-relief figurant une scène de Charité, du XVIIIe siècle, ainsi qu’un vitrail figurant cette même scène.

L’église conserve également une fresque de sainte Radegonde et une statue de saint Genefort, réputée miraculeuse et faisant l’objet d’un pèlerinage.

L’église Saint-Martin est classée aux Monuments historiques le 16 septembre 1907. PA00089224

The church of Saint-Martin de Lamballe is the church of a former priory founded in 1084 by Count Geffroy Boterel for the monks of Marmoutier.

The Romanesque nave dates from the foundation, is flanked by aisles to the north and south, and is separated from the transept by a diaphragm arch. Both the transept and the choir date from the 16th and 18th centuries. The southern entrance to the church is preceded by a porch.

The church preserves a statue of St. Martin, a bas-relief depicting a scene of Charity, from the 18th century, as well as a stained glass window depicting the same scene.

The church also has a fresco of Saint Radegonde and a statue of Saint Genefort, reputed to be miraculous and the object of a pilgrimage.

The church of Saint-Martin was classified as a historical monument on 16 September 1907. PA00089224
