L’église Saint-Martin de Roche serait, à l’origine, un petit prieuré bénédictin existe à la fin du XIe siècle ou au début du XIIe siècle . L’église est mentionnée en 1225, à la collation du prieur de Sail-sous-Couzan. L’église est agrandie au XVIe siècle (la date de 1553 est inscrite sur les fonds baptismaux situés dans la travée du clocher). Le chœur est reconstruit en 1835 par l’architecte Trabucco car le chœur initial menaçait de s’effondrer. Le dallage date de 1859.

The church of Saint-Martin de Roche was originally a small Benedictine priory that existed at the end of the 11th or beginning of the 12th century. The church is mentioned in 1225, under the control of the prior of Sail-sous-Couzan. The church was enlarged in the 16th century (the date 1553 is inscribed on the baptismal font located in the bell tower). The choir was rebuilt in 1835 by the architect Trabucco because the original choir was in danger of collapsing. The paving dates from 1859.
