La première fondation de l’église date du XIe siècle. Ses murs gouttereaux en ont conservé leurs parements en petit appareil. Au XVe siècle fut rajouté un transept et un chœur terminé par un chevet plat. La nef et le chœur ont été couverts d’une fausse voûte en berceau qui, dans ce chœur, a laissé apparents les entraits et les poinçons de la charpente. La nef précédée d’une façade dominée par un clocher a été construite en 1881. Dans l’église, on trouve une cuve baptismale circulaire en pierre du XIIe siècle, et le retable du maître-autel, en bois, du XVIIe siècle. La cure et l’église appartenaient autrefois à l’abbaye de Saint Julien de Tours.

Située à gauche dans le chœur, saint Martin est présenté en évêque non mitré mais tenant sa crosse dans ma main droite.

 

The first foundation of the church dates from the 11th century. Its gutter walls have retained their small stone facing. In the 15th century, a transept and a choir with a flat chevet were added. The nave and the choir were covered with a false barrel vault which, in the choir, left the entrails and the punches of the framework visible. The nave, with a façade dominated by a bell tower, was built in 1881. In the church, there is a 12th century circular stone baptismal font and the 17th century wooden altarpiece. The parish and the church once belonged to the abbey of Saint Julien de Tours.

On the left side of the choir, Saint Martin is shown as a bishop, not mitred, but holding his crosier in his right hand.
