Ce vitrail se trouve dans l’église d’Ingrande-de-Touraine. Il a été réalisé par Lucien-Léopold Lobin, à Tours, en 1864. Il a été donné à la paroisse par le maire d’Ingrande-de-Touraine, Constant Belguise, la même année.

Le vitrail figure saint Martin en évêque, nimbé et mitré, portant une chasuble rouge, un dalmatique vert et une aube dorée. Il tient sa crosse dans la main gauche et un livre dans la main droite. En-dessous est écrit : St MARTINUS.

Dans la partie inférieure du  vitrail figure une scène de charité. Saint Martin est à cheval, il coupe son manteau afin d’en donner une partie au pauvre. Le pauvre est debout, il tend la main vers saint Martin. Il a un bâton dans la main gauche et il porte un baluchon sur son épaule. Derrière les personnages on peu voir les murs de la ville d’Amiens. La charité est très colorée. Cette représentation tranche sur l’habitude car le pauvre est devant le cheval et le geste de retournement du saint  (convertire en latin veut dire se retourner et se convertir)  lié à la conversion ne peut être qu’esquissé.

This stained glass window is in the church of Ingrande-de-Touraine. It was made by Lucien-Léopold Lobin, in Tours, in 1864. It was given to the parish by the mayor of Ingrande-de-Touraine, Constant Belguise, in the same year.

The window shows Saint Martin as a bishop, nimbed and mitred, wearing a red chasuble, a green dalmatic and a golden alb. He holds his crosier in his left hand and a book in his right hand. Underneath is written: St MARTINUS.

In the lower part of the window is a scene of charity. St Martin is on horseback, cutting off his cloak in order to give part of it to the poor. The poor man is standing, holding out his hand to St Martin. He has a stick in his left hand and carries a bundle on his shoulder. Behind the figures you can see the walls of the city of Amiens. The charity is very colourful. This depiction is in contrast to the usual one, as the poor man is in front of the horse and the saint’s gesture of turning around (convertire in Latin means to turn around and convert) linked to conversion can only be sketched.
