San Martino della Battaglia est une fraction de la commune de Desenzano del Garda. Elle tient son nom de la petite église Saint-Martin qui dépendait du monastère Santa Giulia de Brescia.

Le village est le lieu de la bataille du 24 juin 1859 qui porte le nom, en France, de bataille de Solferino, mais qui est connue en Italie sous le nom de bataille de Saint-Martin, dont la tour Saint-Martin conserve l’ossuaire.

San Martino della Battaglia is part of the municipality of Desenzano del Garda. It takes its name from the small church of San Martino, which was part of the Santa Giulia monastery in Brescia.

The village was the site of the battle of 24 June 1859, known in France as the Battle of Solferino, but in Italy as the Battle of San Martino, whose ossuary is preserved in the Torre San Martino.
