L’église Saint-Senoch du village de Saint-Senoch, dans le sud de la Touraine, abrite un vitrail et une statue représentant tous les deux saint Martin en évêque. Le vitrail, réalisé par le Toulousain Louis-Victor Gesta, figure saint Martin en évêque, nimbé et mitré, barbu, vêtu d’une chasuble rouge, étole dorée, dalmatique verte et aube violette. Il tient un livre dans sa main gauche, sa crosse est appuyée contre son épaule gauche, et fait le geste de bénédiction de la main droite. Il est inscrit en bas du vitrail : SANCTUS MARTINUS.

La statue est blanche, reprend la même figuration que le vitrail avec quelques changements  : il manque l’auréole, le livre et la crosse. La main qui fait le geste de bénédiction est abimée et il manque deux doigts à la main gauche.

                           

 

The Saint-Senoch church in the village of Saint-Senoch, in the south of Touraine, houses a stained glass window and a statue both representing Saint Martin as a bishop. The stained glass window, made by the Toulousain Louis-Victor Gesta, depicts Saint Martin as a bishop, haloed and mitred, bearded, dressed in a red chasuble, golden stole, green dalmatic and purple alb. He holds a book in his left hand, his butt is leaning against his left shoulder, and makes the blessing gesture with his right hand. It is inscribed at the bottom of the stained glass window: SANCTUS MARTINUS.
The statue is white, uses the same figuration as the stained glass window with a few changes: the halo, the book and the crosier are missing. The hand making the gesture of blessing is damaged and two fingers are missing from the left hand.
