La source coulait au pied de l’éperon portant le château de Candé, à 200 mètres du confluent de l’Indre et du ruisseau de Saint-Laurent, qu’elle alimentait. Elle a été intégrée à un étang aménagé dans le parc du château. Une grande chapelle, dédiée à saint Martin, a été construite non loin de la source, et un bas relief représentant saint Martin partageant son manteau surmonte la porte du château.

The source flowed at the foot of the spur carrying the castle of Candé, 200 meters from the confluence of the Indre and the Saint-Laurent stream, which it fed. It was integrated into a pond in the park of the castle. A large chapel, dedicated to Saint Martin, was built not far from the source, and a bas relief representing Saint Martin sharing his coat surmounts the door of the castle.
