L’église est de style roman. La façade occidentale a conservé le clavage en plein cintre de la porte primitive, sous lequel est percée une porte moderne à linteau droit. La nef, primitivement unique, a été doublée au nord, à une date imprécise, d’un collatéral avec lequel elle communique par trois arcades.   Elle abrite un tableau figurant une charité de saint Martin et un vitrail de saint Martin évêque.

Le vitrail a été réalisé par E. Lobin à Tours en 1926. Saint Martin est représenté avec une grande barbe blanche, nimbé et mitré, avec une chasuble rouge par-dessus une aube blanche. Il tient sa crosse dans la main gauche et une église dans la main droite. En-dessous est écrit « Stus MARTINUS ».

La charité représente saint Martin en cavalier romain coupant son manteau pour le donner à un pauvre. Le pauvre est à demi nu, il se tient sur une béquille. Il tient de l’autre main un morceau du manteau de saint Martin.

Le tableau est lugubre, les couleurs sont sombres. Derrière saint Martin ont peut voir l’enceinte de la ville d’Amiens. Le tableau est non daté et non signé.

 

The church is in the Romanesque style. The western façade has retained the semicircular arch of the original doorway, under which a modern door with a straight lintel has been pierced. The nave, which was originally single, was doubled to the north, at an uncertain date, by a side aisle with which it communicates through three arches. It houses a painting of a charity of Saint Martin and a stained glass window of Saint Martin the bishop.

The stained glass window was made by E. Lobin in Tours in 1926. Saint Martin is represented with a large white beard, nimbed and mitred, with a red chasuble over a white alb. He is holding his crosier in his left hand and a church in his right hand. Underneath is written « Stus MARTINUS ».

The charity depicts St. Martin as a Roman cavalryman cutting off his cloak and giving it to a poor man. The poor man is half-naked, standing on a crutch. In his other hand he is holding a piece of St Martin’s cloak.

The picture is gloomy, the colours are dark. Behind Saint Martin can be seen the city walls of Amiens. The painting is undated and unsigned.
