L’église Saint-Martin de Pierrevillers est une église fortifiée dont la fondation daterait de la fin du XIIe siècle. Seuls subsisteraient de cette époque le chœur roman et la chapelle latérale. C’est au XVIIIe siècle que se construisent deux travées supplémentaires.

Cette église abrite un vitrail réalisé par un maître verrier mosellan Arthur Schouler qui date des années 1980. Il représente une charité de saint Martin figurant trois personnages : saint Martin en cavalier et habillé de la tunique rouge de l’armée romaine et le mendiant, qui est à genoux, en prière. La particularité de cette charité est que le Christ se trouve entre saint Martin et le mendiant. Le Christ, pieds nus, porte une auréole bleue, une tunique dorée et est imberbe. C’est lui qui couvre le mendiant de la « chlamyde » de saint Martin.

L’église a été classée à l’inventaire des Monuments Historiques le 8 octobre 1991. PA00107060

The church of Saint-Martin de Pierrevillers is a fortified church whose foundation dates from the end of the 12th century. Only the Romanesque choir and the side chapel remain from this period. Two additional bays were built in the 18th century.

The church has a stained glass window made by Arthur Schouler, a master glass artist from Moselle, which dates from the 1980s. It depicts the charity of Saint Martin, with three figures: Saint Martin on horseback, wearing the red tunic of the Roman army, and the beggar on his knees in prayer. The particularity of this charity is that Christ is between Saint Martin and the beggar. Christ is barefoot, wears a blue halo, a golden tunic and is beardless. He is the one who covers the beggar with the « chlamydia » of St. Martin.

The church was listed as a Historical Monument on 8 October 1991. PA00107060
