L’église Saint-Martin de Longjumeau est construite en 1250 par le maître d’œuvre Hugues Piedoie à l’emplacement d’une église mérovingienne. L’église Saint-Martin est incendiée durant la Guerre de Cent Ans par les troupes d’Édouard III. Elle est restaurée au XVe siècle avec le financement de la famille Gaillard, seigneurs de Longjumeau. Le clocher est incendié au XVIIIe siècle et restauré en 1774. L’église Saint-Martin devient Temple de la Raison durant la Révolution française.

The Saint-Martin de Longjumeau church was built in 1250 by the master builder Hugues Piedoie on the site of a Merovingian church. The Saint-Martin church was burnt down during the Hundred Years War by the troops of Edward III. It was restored in the 15th century with funding from the Gaillard family, lords of Longjumeau. The bell tower was burned down in the 18th century and restored in 1774. The Saint-Martin church became a Temple of Reason during the French Revolution.
