L’église Saint-Martin de Chapaize est le vestige d’un prieuré bénédictin, construite dans la première moitié du XIe siècle. Elle dépendait de l’abbaye Saint-Pierre de Chalon-sur-Saône, qui était en lien avec Saint-Martin d’Autun.

L’église Saint-Martin est de style roman, surmontée d’un clocher de 35 mètres. La nef est constituée de cinq travées, voûtée en berceaux sur doubleaux.

L’église subit des modifications au XVIe siècle.

The church of Saint-Martin de Chapaize is the remains of a Benedictine priory, built in the first half of the 11th century. It depended on the Saint-Pierre de Chalon-sur-Saône abbey, which was linked to Saint-Martin d’Autun.

The church of Saint-Martin is in Romanesque style, with a 35-metre high bell tower. The nave consists of five bays, with barrel vaults over double slats.

The church was modified in the 16th century.
