L’existence de l’église Saint-Martin de Barbirey-sur-Ouche est attestée dès 1169. Il ne reste de cette église primitive que la forme de l’abside. Elle est remaniée au XVIe et au XVIIe siècle. La date de 1602 est inscrite sur le pilier droit de l’avant-chœur.

L’église Saint-Martin s’ouvre par un porche. La nef est unique. La croisée des transepts est surmontée d’une tour-clocher couverte d’un toit à quatre pans. Deux chapelles latérales sont disposées de chaque côté.

L’église a connu une grande campagne de restauration au XVIIIe et au XIXe siècle.

L’église abrite un retable du XVIIIe siècle ayant une niche de chaque côté, à gauche, une statue polychrome figurant saint Martin en évêque, à droite, une statue saint Martin en soldat.

The existence of the church of Saint-Martin de Barbirey-sur-Ouche is attested to as early as 1169. All that remains of this primitive church is the shape of the apse. It was redesigned in the 16th and 17th centuries. The date 1602 is inscribed on the right pillar of the fore-choir.

The church of Saint Martin opens with a porch. The nave is unique. The crossing of the transepts is topped by a bell tower with a gable roof. There are two side chapels on each side.

The church underwent a major restoration campaign in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The church has an 18th century altarpiece with a niche on each side, on the left, a polychrome statue of Saint Martin as a bishop, on the right, a statue of Saint Martin as a soldier.
