La début de la construction de l’église Saint Martin d’Argenvières remonte au XIème siècle. Puis des travaux d’agrandissement eurent lieu :  au XVIème siècle fut rajoutée une chapelle du coté sud, un autre du coté nord date, elle,  du XIXème. Une sculpture sur console présente la charité.

Au XVe siècle une confrérie de Saint-Martin fut établie sur le territoire.

La sculpture de la charité se trouve sur une console sur le mur sud de l’église. Elle représente  la charité de manière très classique: le saint figure en cavalier romain , retourné sur son cheval pour couper le manteau que reçoit un pauvre assis par terre.

The beginning of the construction of the church of Saint Martin d’Argenvières dates back to the 11th century. Later, the church was enlarged: in the 16th century, a chapel was added on the south side, and another on the north side in the 19th century. A sculpture on a console shows charity.

In the 15th century a brotherhood of Saint Martin was established in the area.

The sculpture of charity is on a console on the south wall of the church. It represents charity in a very classical way: the saint is shown as a Roman rider, returning to his horse to cut the cloak received by a poor man sitting on the ground.
