Église romane dont le toit est recouvert de lauzes , ce qui est assez rare. Elle dépendait de l’abbaye de Nouaillé et à fait l’objet de nombreuses revendications au XVIIe siècle. Son abside et son chœur sont de style roman. Le clocher est de forme carrée. Le décor de l’église est sobre malgré la présence de litres funéraires et d’armoiries attestant des victoires de la famille de Saint-Georges de Vérac  dans la lutte pour la propriété de l’église.

L’autel conserve le bas-relief une représentation de la bataille de Worms (Sulpice Sévère, Vita Martini, IV), avec l’inscription : Saint Martin, accusé par l’empereur de se retirer de l’armée par lâcheté, lui répondit avec une noble fierté : « Qu’on me mette au premier rang sans autre arme que cette croix et l’on verra si un chrétien a peur de la mort ».

 

A Romanesque church with a roof covered with slate, which is quite rare. It depended on the abbey of Nouaillé and was the subject of numerous claims in the 17th century. Its apse and choir are in the Romanesque style. The bell tower is square. The decoration of the church is sober despite the presence of funerary litres and coats of arms attesting to the victories of the family of Saint-Georges de Vérac in the fight for the ownership of the church.

The altar retains a bas-relief depicting the battle of Worms (Sulpice Severus, Vita Martini, IV), with the inscription: Saint Martin, accused by the emperor of withdrawing from the army out of cowardice, replied with noble pride: « Let them put me in the front rank with no other weapon than this cross, and we’ll see if a Christian is afraid of death ».
