Le village est mentionné au VIIe siècle sous le nom latin de Bactilione vallis. La paroisse doit sans doute dater de cette époque et devait déjà être sous le vocable de saint Martin. Elle est, en tout cas, antérieure à une charte de 854 dans laquelle Odon, évêque de Beauvais, donne une partie de ses biens aux chanoines du chapitre cathédral.

L’église actuelle commence à être construite à partir du XIIe siècle. Elle a une nef de six travées et un chœur de deux travées. Le plafond est voûté d’ogives. L’ensemble est dans le style roman tardif. Le clocher date du XIIIe siècle.

L’église connaît une grande campagne de restauration entre 1923 et 1932.

Un retable de deux pilastres conserve un grand tableau figurant saint Martin en évêque, sur un trône, en train de recevoir les fidèles.

The village is mentioned in the 7th century under the Latin name of Bactilione vallis. The parish must probably date from this period and must already have been under the patronage of Saint Martin. In any case, it predates a charter of 854 in which Odon, bishop of Beauvais, gives part of his property to the canons of the cathedral chapter.

The present church began to be built in the 12th century. It has a nave of six bays and a choir of two bays. The ceiling is ribbed. The whole is in the late Romanesque style. The bell tower dates from the 13th century.

The church underwent a major restoration campaign between 1923 and 1932.

An altarpiece with two pilasters contains a large painting of Saint Martin as a bishop, on a throne, receiving the faithful.
