L’église Saint-Martin d’Ammerschwihr est construite au XVe siècle mais l’essentiel du monument date du XVIe siècle. Le chœur et le transepts proviennent de l’église primitive, dans le style gothique, et la nef date du XVIe siècle, dans un style davantage Renaissance. Un clocher datant du XIVe siècle se tenait à l’entrée de l’église mais il a été remplacé par un clocher néo-gothique au début du XXe siècle.

La ville d’Ammerschwihr a été incendiée durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, mais l’église a relativement été épargnée.

The church of Saint-Martin in Ammerschwihr was built in the 15th century, but the main part of the monument dates from the 16th century. The choir and transepts come from the original church, in the Gothic style, and the nave dates from the 16th century, in a more Renaissance style. A 14th-century bell tower stood at the entrance to the church but was replaced by a neo-Gothic bell tower in the early 20th century.

The town of Ammerschwihr was burnt down during the Second World War, but the church was relatively unscathed.
