La collégiale Saint-Martin de Montmorency est fondée vers 1124 par Mathieu Ier de Montmorency. Les premiers offices sont célébrés dès 1132. Il ne reste rien de ce premier édifice, hormis des vestiges retrouvés au XIXe siècle déposés ai musée du Louvre.
L’actuelle église est bâtie à partir de 1515 sous Guillaume de Montmorency, dans le style gothique flamboyant. Son fils, le connétable Anne de Montmorency, laisse le chantier mais le reprend sur la fin de sa vie, en 1557. Il le confie à l’architecte du château d’Écouen, Jean Bullant, sous la direction du maître-maçon Jean Désilles.
La collégiale est confiée aux religieux Oratoriens. Elle connaît des travaux et restaurations tout au long du XVIIe siècle et du XVIIIe siècle.
Deux bas-reliefs sont situés au-dessus du portail de l’église, celui de gauche figure une scène de Charité, où saint Martin est représenté en soldat, et celui de droite, où saint Martin figure en évêque, le miracle du pin.
Les vitraux sont restaurés entre 1881 et 1887 sous la direction de l’historien d’art Lucien Magne. Le vitrail central a une représentation de saint Martin.
Le chœur a quatre travées, deux collatéraux, et se termine par un chevet polygonal.

Saint-Martin de Montmorency collegiate church was founded around 1124 by Mathieu I de Montmorency. The first offices were celebrated in 1132. Nothing remains of this first building, apart from vestiges found in the 19th century deposited at the Louvre Museum.
The current church was built from 1515 under Guillaume de Montmorency, in the flamboyant Gothic style. His son, the Constable Anne de Montmorency, left the site but took it over at the end of his life, in 1557. He entrusted it to the architect of the Château d’Écouen, Jean Bullant, under the direction of the master mason Jean Désilles .
The collegiate is entrusted to the Oratorian monks. It underwent works and restorations throughout the 17th century and the 18th century.
Two bas-reliefs are located above the portal of the church, the one on the left depicts a scene of Charity, where Saint Martin is represented as a soldier, and the one on the right, where Saint Martin appears as a bishop, the miracle of the pine tree.
The stained glass windows were restored between 1881 and 1887 under the direction of art historian Lucien Magne. The central stained glass window has a representation of Saint Martin.
The choir has four bays, two side aisles, and ends with a polygonal apse.
