Le vitrail a été réalisé par le Carmel du Mans, en 1878, et il se trouve dans la nef de l’église de Faye-la-Vineuse. Saint Martin, nimbé, est représenté en chevalier avec une lourde armure. Ses vêtements sont blancs rayés de rouge. Il coupe un morceau de son manteau. Le pauvre est agenouillé par terre, il ne regarde pas saint Martin. Un troisième personnage, bien habillé, est présent, il tend une bourse au pauvre. La scène n’est pas représentative de l’époque de saint Martin (IVè siècle), elle semble beaucoup plus tardive. Au registre supérieur, deux personnes regardent la scène, chacun derrière une fenêtre. Au milieu d’eux, nous pouvons voir une représentation d’évêque nimbé et mitré, blanc et doré, sans doute saint Martin.

The stained glass window was made by the Carmelite monastery in Le Mans in 1878 and is located in the nave of the church in Faye-la-Vineuse. Saint Martin, wearing a nimbus, is depicted as a knight in heavy armour. His clothes are white with red stripes. He cuts off a piece of his cloak. The poor man is kneeling on the ground, not looking at Saint Martin. A third, well-dressed figure is present, handing the poor man a purse. The scene is not representative of St. Martin’s time (4th century), it seems much later. In the upper register, two people are watching the scene, each behind a window. In the middle of them, we can see a representation of a bishop, nimbed and mitred, white and gilded, probably Saint Martin.
