Le musée-abbaye Saint-Germain-d’Auxerre abrite une statue d’une charité de saint Martin. C’est une statue en bois polychrome de la fin du XVIe siècle. Elle semble avoir  été conservée à l’abbatiale Saint-Germain d’Auxerre dès l’origine. Saint Martin figure en cavalier, vêtu à la mode du XVIe siècle, en train de couper son manteau rouge. Le mendiant est tout petit, à demi-nu, debout derrière la croupe du cheval. Il tend sa main droite vers saint Martin.

The Saint-Germain-d’Auxerre Abbey Museum houses a statue of a charity of Saint Martin. It is a polychrome wooden statue from the late 16th century. It seems to have been kept in the Saint-Germain d’Auxerre Abbey from the beginning. Saint Martin is shown as a horseman, dressed in 16th century fashion, cutting off his red coat. The beggar is very small, half-naked, standing behind the horse’s rump. He is holding out his right hand to Saint Martin.
