C’est la plus ancienne église de Chinon, d’après Grégoire de Tours, elle fut fondée au Ve siècle par saint Brice. Détruite et reconstruite au XIIe siècle. Démantelée à la Révolution française, il ne reste plus, actuellement, que la base du mur absidial, semi-circulaire, sur lequel fut élevé un bâtiment d’habitation.

This is the oldest church in Chinon, according to Gregory of Tours, it was founded in the 5th century by Saint Brice. Destroyed and rebuilt in the 12th century. Dismantled during the French Revolution, all that remains today is the base of the semi-circular apse wall, on which a residential building was built.
