L’église Saint-Martin d’Ivry-la-Bataille est construite à la fin du XVe siècle et au début du XVIe siècle. Diane de Poitiers en a posé les fondations pour établir un chapitre. La foudre a détruit la flèche en 1664 et elle a de nouveau été démolie par un ouragan en 1688. Un affaissement de terrain abîme l’église au XIXe siècle.

Le chevet conserve l’inscription « Temple de la raison et de la philosophie » et la devise « Liberté. Égalité. Fraternité ».

La cloche de l’église s’appelle Saint-Martin.

The Saint-Martin church in Ivry-la-Bataille was built at the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. Diane de Poitiers laid the foundations to establish a chapter. Lightning destroyed the spire in 1664 and it was demolished again by a hurricane in 1688. A landslide damaged the church in the 19th century.

The apse retains the inscription « Temple of Reason and Philosophy » and the motto « Liberty. Equality. Fraternity ».

The church bell is called Saint-Martin.
