La plus ancienne mention de l’église Saint-Martin de Meudon date du XIIIe siècle. Le chœur de l’église est édifié en 1585. La nef à quatre travées, flanquée de bas-côtés, est reconstruit en 1682. Le clocher est construit en 1709. La façade actuelle est modifiée au XIXe siècle.

L’église Saint-Martin est inscrite à l’inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historiques en 1969 et classée aux Monuments historiques en 1996. PA00088118

François Rabelais a été titulaire de la cure en 1551 mais il n’est pas dit qu’il en ait rempli la fonction. Il l’abandonne avant sa mort en 1553.
