L’église Saint-Martin d’Hangest-en-Santerre est construite entre 1927 et 1931 par l’architecte Godefroy Teisseire, à l’emplacement d’une église médiévale détruite durant la Première Guerre mondiale.

L’actuelle église est bâtie dans le style romano-byzantin, sur un plan en croix-grecque, en béton armé avec un revêtement en pierre de taille. Le centre de l’église est couverte d’une coupole sur pendentif faisant œuvre de clocher.

La verrière ouest, réalisée par Raphaël Lardeur, figure une Charité de saint Martin.

Le décor intérieur de l’église est classé aux Monuments historiques le 21 octobre 1994. PA00132923

The Saint-Martin church in Hangest-en-Santerre was built between 1927 and 1931 by the architect Godefroy Teisseire, on the site of a medieval church destroyed during the First World War.
The present church is built in the Romano-Byzantine style, on a Greek cross plan, in reinforced concrete with a freestone facing. The center of the church is covered with a dome on pendentive work of bell tower.
The west canopy, made by Raphaël Lardeur, features a Charity of Saint Martin.
The interior decor of the church is classified as a Historic Monument on October 21, 1994. PA00132923
