L’église Saint-Martin de Breuil-le-Vert est mentionnée pour la première fois dans une charte du comte Hugues Ier de Clermont datant de 1099 ou 1100 dans laquelle il donne l’église à l’abbaye Saint-Germer-de-Fly.

L’église primitive, de style roman, a un plan basilical. À la fin du XIIe siècle, l’église connaît des modifications. Au XIIIe siècle, le chœur, le transept et le clocher sont agrandis et transformés dans le style gothique. Le chœur devient un « chœur-halle ».

Le bas-côté nord est supprimé au XVIe siècle. La façade est pourvue d’une nouveau portail.

La nef est remaniée au XIXe siècle, et l’ensemble de l’église est restaurée.

L’église conserve un groupe sculpté représentant la Charité de Saint-Martin, de la première moitié du XVIe siècle. Il mesure 150 cm de largeur et 160 cm de hauteur.

L’église conserve également un tableau de Jehan d’Angoudessant, représentant la Charité de saint Martin, mesurant 66 cm de largeur sur 45 cm de hauteur avec son cadre, et datant de 1573. Il représente également le donateur en armure, agenouillé et regardant la scène.

The church of Saint-Martin de Breuil-le-Vert is mentioned for the first time in a charter of Count Hugues I of Clermont dating from 1099 or 1100 in which he gives the church to the abbey of Saint-Germer-de-Fly.

The primitive church, in Romanesque style, has a basilical plan. At the end of the 12th century, the church underwent some changes. In the 13th century, the choir, transept and bell tower were enlarged and transformed in the Gothic style. The choir became a « choir hall ».

The north aisle was removed in the 16th century. The facade was provided with a new portal.

The nave was remodelled in the 19th century and the whole church was restored.

The church still has a carved group representing the Charity of St. Martin from the first half of the 16th century. It is 150 cm wide and 160 cm high.

The church also preserves a painting by Jehan d’Angoudessant, representing the Charity of Saint Martin, measuring 66 cm wide by 45 cm high with its frame, and dating from 1573. It also depicts the donor in armour, kneeling and looking at the scene.
