La ville de Béthisy a été divisée en deux villes, chacune autour de son église : Béthisy-Saint-Pierre et Béthisy-Saint-Martin. La deuxième est placée sur le trajet d’une voie romaine.

L’église Saint-Martin actuelle a été bâtie au XIIe siècle. Le clocher, la nef et les bas-côtés sont construits vers 1130, dans le style roman. La nef est la même que l’église Saint-Pierre. Le chœur est agrandi à la fin du XIIIe siècle et une travée gothique remplace l’abside romane. Le bas-côté nord est reconstruit au XIVe siècle. L’église a été restaurée au XIXe siècle.

The town of Béthisy was divided into two towns, each around its church: Béthisy-Saint-Pierre and Béthisy-Saint-Martin. The latter is located on the route of a Roman road.

The current Saint-Martin church was built in the 12th century. The bell tower, the nave and the side aisles were built around 1130, in the Romanesque style. The nave is the same as that of St. Peter’s. The choir was enlarged at the end of the 13th century and a Gothic bay replaced the Romanesque apse. The north aisle was rebuilt in the 14th century. The church was restored in the 19th century.
