L’église Saint-Martin de Gissey-sous-Flavigny est construite au XIIIe siècle dans le style roman. Elle a été remaniée au XVe et au XVIe siècle.

La nef est d’origine, éclairée par deux fenêtres. Le chœur à cinq pans, dans le style gothique, date du XVe siècle. Une flèche de 8 mètres, couverte en lauze, est ajoutée sur le clocher en 1860.

En 1904, la toiture est refaite en ardoise.

Un vitrail figure saint Martin en évêque, mitré et nimbé, vêtu d’une chasuble dorée, tenant sa crosse dans la main gauche et faisant le geste de bénédiction de la main droite. Au pied u vitrail se trouve l’inscription Stus MARTINUS.

Une statue en bois polychrome de saint Martin se trouve dans le chœur.

The church of Saint-Martin in Gissey-sous-Flavigny was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style. It was redesigned in the 15th and 16th centuries.

The nave is original, lit by two windows. The five-sided choir, in the Gothic style, dates from the 15th century. An 8-metre high spire, covered in lauze, was added to the bell tower in 1860.

In 1904, the roof was re-roofed with slate.

A stained glass window shows Saint Martin as a bishop, mitred and nimbed, wearing a golden chasuble, holding his crosier in his left hand and making the gesture of blessing with his right hand. At the foot of the window is the inscription Stus MARTINUS.

A polychrome wooden statue of St Martin is in the choir.
