L’église Saint-Martin de Chas est mentionnée pour la première fois en 990, dans un acte de donation de l’évêque de Clermont Begon au prieuré de Sauxillanges. Remaniée au XIIe siècle, puis au XVIe siècle, elle garde la trace de ce dernier dans la date 1588 inscrite sur une clef de voûte. Le porche est daté par une clef de voûte de 1588. Le clocher, détruit à la Révolution, a été reconstruit au XIX° siècle dans un style néogothique.

The church of Saint-Martin de Chas is mentioned for the first time in 990, in an act of donation from the bishop of Clermont Begon to the priory of Sauxillanges. Remodeled in the 12th century, then in the 16th century, it keeps the trace of the latter in the date 1588 inscribed on a keystone. The porch is dated 1588 by a keystone. The bell tower, destroyed during the Revolution, was rebuilt in the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style.
