L’église Saint-Martin de Saligny-sur-Roudon est construite au XIXe siècle à la place d’un ancien prieuré clunisien du XIIIe siècle, disparu au XVe siècle. Elle est construite dans le style néo-roman entre 1876 et 1878 et remplace la précédente église romane détruite en 1862.

Sa dédicace à saint Martin a pour origine son appartenance à l’abbaye Saint-Martin de Nevers depuis 1268.

The church of Saint-Martin in Saligny-sur-Roudon was built in the 19th century on the site of a former 13th century Cluniac priory, which had disappeared in the 15th century. It was built in the neo-Romanesque style between 1876 and 1878 and replaced the previous Romanesque church destroyed in 1862.

Its dedication to Saint Martin is due to the fact that it has belonged to the Saint Martin de Nevers abbey since 1268.
