L’église Saint-Martin de Bessay-sur-Allier est un édifice roman avec quelques éléments gothiques, parmi lesquelles les colonnettes ornant le clocher carré. L’édifice a connu une campagne de restauration au XIXe siècle, et la mise en place entre 1852 et 1862 d’une sculpture sur le linteau de la porte figurant l’agneau pascal entouré de deux loups.

L’église abrite une statue du XVIIIe siècle figurant saint Martin en évêque, mitré, tenant sa crosse à la main gauche, et vêtu d’une cape rouge.

The church of Saint-Martin in Bessay-sur-Allier is a Romanesque building with some Gothic elements, including the columns adorning the square bell tower. The building underwent a restoration campaign in the 19th century, and between 1852 and 1862 a sculpture was placed on the door lintel depicting the Paschal Lamb surrounded by two wolves.

The church houses an 18th century statue of Saint Martin as a bishop, mitred, holding his crosier in his left hand and wearing a red cape.
