La rue de la Porte Saint-Martin à Saint-Emilion est fondée au lieu où se trouvait une porte dédiée à Saint-Martin. C’était une porte construite au XIIe siècle au même moment que le rempart de la ville, qui ouvrait sur l’ancienne commune de la juridiction de Saint-Martin de Mazérat, qui a été rattachée à Saint-Émilion en 1790. Le chemin qui passait par cette porte était lui-même dédié à Saint-Martin et conduisait à l’église romane de Saint-Martin de Mazérat. Détruite partiellement lors des guerres de religion, en 1538, elle disparaît au XIXe siècle avec le percement de la rue Guadet.

The rue de la Porte Saint-Martin in Saint-Emilion was founded on the site of a gate dedicated to Saint-Martin. It was a gate built in the 12th century at the same time as the town wall, which opened onto the former commune of the jurisdiction of Saint-Martin de Mazérat, which was attached to Saint-Emilion in 1790. The path that passed through this gate was itself dedicated to Saint-Martin and led to the Romanesque church of Saint-Martin de Mazérat. Partially destroyed during the Wars of Religion in 1538, it disappeared in the 19th century when the Rue Guadet was built.
