Une église Sanctus Martinus Nivernenfis existe déjà au VIIIe siècle. Elle est mentionnée dans un acte de donation de l’évêque de Nevers Raginfroi, en 752. Refondé par Hériman, évêque de Nevers, en 849. Détruite entre 1130 et 1143, elle est reconstruite en 1200  par Hervé IV de Donzy et son épouse Mathilde de Courtenay.

Le clocher a été rasé pendant la Révolution française. L’église a été utilisée comme marché de viande en 1809-1810, puis comme écurie par la gendarmerie, qui logeait de les bâtiments conventuels. L’édifice est rasé en 1900. Il ne reste que la maison du prieur.

A church of Sanctus Martinus Nivernenfis already existed in the 8th century. It is mentioned in an act of donation by the bishop of Nevers Raginfroi, in 752. Refounded by Hériman, bishop of Nevers, in 849. Destroyed between 1130 and 1143, it was rebuilt in 1200 by Hervé IV de Donzy and his wife Mathilde de Courtenay.

The bell tower was razed during the French Revolution. The church was used as a meat market in 1809-1810, then as a stable by the gendarmerie, which was housed in the conventual buildings. The building was razed in 1900. Only the prior’s house remains.
