L’église Saint-Martin de Veilleins est composée d’une nef unique et d’un chœur à chevet plat plus étroit. C’était un prieuré-cure de Saint-Cosme-lès-Tours. Elle se trouve au cœur du cimetière de la ville. Le portail plein cintre, la nef et le chœur datent du XIIe siècle mais l’église a connu des travaux au XVIe siècle. Elle abrite dans le chœur un vitrail et une statue figurant saint Martin évêque, ainsi qu’un reliquaire abritant une relique de saint Martin.

Le vitrail figure saint Martin en évêque, nimbé et mitré, portant la crosse appuyée sur son bras gauche et bénissant de la main droite. Il est vêtu d’une chasuble bleue avec une dalmatique blanche et une aube verte. Au pied du vitrail est écrit SAINT MARTIN.

La statue est blanche et figure saint Martin en évêque. Sa crosse, sa mitre et l’attache de son manteau sont peints en bleu. La statue est posée sur un pignon, à proximité d’un reliquaire simple de bois doré. Ce reliquaire abrite une petite relique de saint Martin.

  

The church of Saint-Martin de Veilleins consists of a single nave and a narrower flat chevet choir. It was a priory-cure of Saint-Cosme-lès-Tours. It is located in the heart of the town’s cemetery. The semicircular portal, the nave and the choir date from the 12th century, but the church was renovated in the 16th century. In the chancel there is a stained glass window and a statue of St Martin the bishop, as well as a reliquary containing a relic of St Martin.

The stained glass window shows St Martin as a bishop, nimbed and mitred, carrying a crosier on his left arm and blessing with his right hand. He is dressed in a blue chasuble with a white dalmatic and a green alb. At the foot of the window is written SAINT MARTIN.

The statue is white and shows Saint Martin as a bishop. His crosier, mitre and cloak are painted blue. The statue is placed on a gable next to a simple gilded wooden reliquary. This reliquary contains a small relic of Saint Martin.
