La crypte de l’église Notre-Dame de Rivière abrite une statue de saint Martin évêque. Saint Martin se trouve devant un vitrail, la statue est colorée. Il est représenté en évêque, il tient la crosse de l’évêque dans sa main gauche et fait un signe de bénédiction de la main droite. Sur le socle est écrit « St Martin ».

 

Une peinture murale dans la nef de l’église Notre Dame de Rivière relate une légende du XIIIè siècle : la rencontre de saint Martin et de saint Mexme. Elle est écrite en français sur un mur coloré. Le titre de la légende est « Légende du Bienheureux saint Martin. Œuvre du comte de Galembert ». Elle date de 1864.

Une inscription dans la crypte de l’église rappelle que saint Martin, saint Gatien, saint Mexme, sainte Radegonde et sainte Jeanne d’Arc sont venus en pèlerinage  sur l’autel de la Vierge.

Le girouet de la commune abrite une représentation de saint Martin.

 

The crypt of the church of Notre-Dame de Rivière houses a statue of Saint Martin the bishop. Saint Martin is standing in front of a stained glass window, the statue is coloured. He is depicted as a bishop, holding the bishop’s crook in his left hand and making a sign of blessing with his right hand. On the base is written « St Martin ».
A mural in the nave of the church of Notre Dame de Rivière relates a 13th century legend of the meeting of St Martin and St Mexme. It is written in French on a coloured wall. The title of the legend is « Legend of Blessed Saint Martin. Work of the Count of Galembert ». It dates from 1864.

An inscription in the crypt of the church recalls that Saint Martin, Saint Gatien, Saint Mexme, Saint Radegonde and Saint Joan of Arc came on pilgrimage to the altar of the Virgin.

The « girouet » of the municipality contains a representation of Saint Martin.
