L’ancienne église médiévale consacrée à Saint Martin a été vendue à la Révolution et il faut attendre l’ année 1846 pour que l’abbé  Louis Dutriez décide de reconstruire l’église paroissiale. Les travaux se sont déroulés tout au long de la fin du XIXe siècle. L ’église de Croix est caractéristique d’un groupe d’églises paroissiales dessinées par l’architecte  Leroy ; elle s’impose par son élégante tour de façade dont la verticalité est accentuée par une haute flèche et par la pente de la rue. L’église  a été victime des bombardements de la guerre de 14. Elle a donc été largement reconstruite en style néo-gothique et ré ornée d’un ensemble de peintures murales néo-gothiques qui recouvrent l’ensemble de l’intérieur.

The old medieval church dedicated to Saint Martin was sold during the Revolution and it was not until 1846 that Abbot Louis Dutriez decided to rebuild the parish church. The work took place throughout the late 19th century. The church of Croix is characteristic of a group of parish churches designed by the architect Leroy; it stands out with its elegant tower façade, the verticality of which is accentuated by a high spire and the slope of the street. The church was a victim of the bombing during the First World War. It was therefore largely rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style and re-decorated with a series of neo-Gothic wall paintings that cover the entire interior.
