Il s’agit d’un tableau qui se trouve dans la nef de l’église Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais de Jaulnay. Saint Martin figure en cavalier romain, il coupe son manteau avec son épée pour le donner à un pauvre. Le pauvre est à demi nu, saint Martin le couvre de son manteau. La scène se déroule en hiver, la neige recouvre le sol. A gauche de saint Martin, on peut voir la porte de la ville d’Amiens. Le tableau est non-daté et non-signé.

 

This is a painting in the nave of the church of Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais in Jaulnay. Saint Martin is shown as a Roman cavalryman, cutting off his cloak with his sword to give it to a poor man. The poor man is half naked, and Saint Martin covers him with his cloak. The scene takes place in winter, with snow covering the ground. To the left of St Martin is the city gate of Amiens. The painting is undated and unsigned.
