L’église Saint-Bénigne de Saint-Branchs abrite un vitrail retraçant la légende de sainte Maure en quatre panneaux. Le troisième panneau représente saint Martin qui est en train d’instruire sainte Maure et ses enfants, les invitant à se consacrer à Dieu et à poursuivre l’évangélisation de la Touraine.  Saint Martin figure en évêque, mitré et nimbé, avec une barbe blanche, une chasuble rouge et une dalmatique bleue. Il tient sa crosse dans la main gauche, le long de son épaule, et fait un geste d’envoi de la main droite. Un enfant se tient à sa gauche. Sainte Maure est représenté en vert avec une cape violette, voilée et nimbée. Elle a un enfant devant elle, qui a les mains jointe, et a le reste des enfants derrière elle, avec trois hommes moustachus.

Dans ce vitrail, saint Bénigne, patron de la paroisse, et premier nom de la commune de Saint-Branchs, est un proche de sainte Maure, et ils sont martyrisés ensemble.

Le vitrail a été réalisé par Lux Fournier à Tours en 1902, offert à la paroisse par M. et Mme Gasnier.

 

The Saint-Bénigne de Saint-Branchs church houses a stained glass window depicting the legend of Saint Moor in four panels. The third panel represents Saint Martin who is instructing Saint Maure and her children, inviting them to consecrate themselves to God and to continue the evangelization of Touraine. Saint Martin appears as a bishop, mitred and haloed, with a white beard, a red chasuble and a blue dalmatic. He holds his stick in his left hand, along his shoulder, and makes a sending gesture with his right hand. A child stands to his left. Sainte Maure is represented in green with a violet, veiled and haloed cape. She has a child in front of her, who has her hands joined, and has the rest of the children behind her, with three mustachioed men.
In this stained glass window, Saint Bénigne, patron saint of the parish, and first name of the commune of Saint-Branchs, is close to Saint Maure, and they are martyred together.
The stained glass window was made by Lux Fournier in Tours in 1902, offered to the parish by Mr. and Mrs. Gasnier.
