L’église Saint-Martin de Layrac a été construite pas les Bénédictins au XIe. C’est une église composée d’une nef voûtée en berceau, de transepts dont la croisée est surmontée d’une coupole octogonale et se terminant par deux chapelles absidioles voûtées en cul-de-four et d’une abside demi-circulaire avec sept ouvertures, ornée d’un baldaquin. La charte de fondation date du 16 décembre 1064, après une donation faite en 1062 par le vicomte de Brulhois et Hunald, son frère puîné, moine à l’abbaye de Moissac (dont il devient l’abbé en 1072). L’église est restaurée au XVIIIe siècle puis au XXe siècle. L’église est classée monument historique par arrêté du 20 juillet 1908. PA00084157

The church of Saint-Martin de Layrac was built by the Benedictines in the 11th century. It is a church composed of a barrel-vaulted nave, transepts whose crossing is surmounted by an octagonal dome and ending in two apsidal chapels with cul-de-four vaults and a semicircular apse with seven openings, decorated with a baldachin. The foundation charter dates from 16 December 1064, following a donation made in 1062 by the Viscount of Brulhois and Hunald, his younger brother, a monk at Moissac Abbey (of which he became abbot in 1072). The church was restored in the 18th century and again in the 20th century. The church was classified as a historical monument by decree on 20 July 1908. PA00084157
